Those attending The Eagle programme are setting off upon journeys of their own, hungry for new horizons and an independence which will help shape them as young adults. Each week of our Summer School is designed to give them expert guidance, while encouraging them to wholeheartedly engage with exciting new experiences – whether that is physically on our mountain during challenging expeditions, or academically in the classroom.

Camp overview

The Eagle is aimed toward teenagers who are hungry to experience more challenging subject matter, to get to grips with ideas that go beyond the fundamental and really delve into fascinating opportunities for discovery. As such, we have developed a range of courses which reflect The Eagle students’ readiness for more complex ideas, featuring a structure that places emphasis upon both individual achievement and the development of greater teamwork skills. Each academic option is led by experienced teachers, who regularly audit their curriculum to ensure students receive the most effective and most relevant educational experience available.

Whether you are considering applying to Aiglon’s full academic year or simply want them to enjoy a few weeks of exciting and rewarding adventures, our summer programmes give children the opportunity to experience the best of Aiglon and its unique environment.

EAGLE PROGRAMME

Morning courses options (09:00 to 12:00)

Interactive French or English (Beginner to Advanced level), Photography and Web Design, International

A TYPICAL DAY

07:30 wake up → 08:00 breakfast → 09:00 morning courses start → 10:25 break → 12:00 lunch → 13:15 prep for afternoon activities → 14:00 afternoon activities → 17:00 free time → 18:30 dinner → 19:30 evening activities → 21:30 bedtime

AFTERNOON ACTIVITIES

Students rotate through a varied activity plan within a group of students the same age. They are assigned a staff group leader that accompanies them to all activities which may include: art, camp craft, team games, drama, orienteering, hiking, swimming, bowling, climbing (indoor and outdoor), golf, mini-golf, cookery, ice skating, river rafting, canyoning (older students), tennis, stand up paddle boarding, wakesurf, body board, surfing (older students), bridge swing, real fly (for older students), kayak, trampoline, design challenge.

TRIPS & EXPEDITIONS

Students will take part in an overnight expedition, leaving campus for two days to explore our local Alpine environment. Non-residential students join the expedition, and are included in the overnight camping. For one week only students, please check with the Summer School Office if the week selected includes the expedition phase.

Students will have the chance to try an adventure activity such as rafting, canyoning or a climbing course, along with hiking and pitching a tent. Expedition is an opportunity to work as a team, then to relax around the campfire! Day excursions include visiting Lac Léman and many of the beautiful lakeside towns, visiting museums and discovering local traditional Swiss products.
